Do you have an increased risk of developing certain diseases due to a random genetic defect or hereditary factors?

By examining more than 110 health-relevant gene variations, an assessment of the individual risk for over 35 diseases can be made. The evaluation shows what preventive measures can be taken. In the case of existing diseases, there are recommendations for the optimal treatment and medication of around 230 drugs and over 2,000 drug ingredients. The detailed, written evaluation of the test results can be presented to the attending physician.

With a Beyond DNA Health analysis, more than 95 relevant gene-related disease risks can be identified. Thanks to these findings, you can take preventive countermeasures or choose the most effective drug therapy for existing diseases. Your analysis result could look like this

Description

Beyond DNA Health | What does health through genes mean?

Our genes determine a wide variety of characteristics such as your eye color, your height and your talents. Unfortunately, our genes are not flawless and each of us carries certain genetic defects or genetic variations. Certain gene variations increase our risk of suffering from diabetes or thrombosis, for example, or whether we cannot tolerate gluten or lactose. Genes determine which medications work effectively or can lead to severe side effects.

Why a Beyond DNA Health analysis? Experts estimate that every person carries around 2,000 genetic defects or variations. In total, this affects our health and in some cases triggers diseases. A variety of influences can cause changes in our genes (also known as mutations), disrupt the functions of the gene and negatively affect our health.  The effects of genetic variations In many cases, genetic variations are not an absolute fact of getting a disease, but merely an increased risk of disease. Whether the disease breaks out depends on external influences and lifestyle. For example, if a person cannot tolerate lactose due to a genetic variation, they are perfectly healthy as long as they do not consume any dairy products. Complaints only arise when certain environmental influences occur, in this case lactose intake via food. This is also the case with other diseases.  Cells and radioactivity External influences such as radioactivity, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (e.g. on strong grilled food) or UV radiation can change individual genes throughout our lives and disrupt their functions, but we inherit the majority of our genetic variations from our parents. Each baby receives half of the father’s genes and half of the mother’s, thus different characteristics from each parent. Unfortunately, genetic defects can also be passed on and so it can happen, for example, that a polymorphism that causes bowel cancer is passed on from grandfather to grandson. However, whether the genetic defect is passed on is determined by chance and so it may be that some grandchildren carry the genetic defect and others do not.
